Riverview is a small community, centrally located in the heart of Florida. We are just southeast of
Tampa and north of
Sun City Center. And we are just a short commute to the big cities, but far enough away to keep our wonderful small town atmosphere.
The beautiful Alafia River runs quietly through our town and empties into Hillsborough Bay and Tampa Bay. Many of our residents enjoy all the activities a river can provide...boating, fishing, skiing, canoeing, jetskiing and sunbathing at the Riverview Civic Center. There are beautiful
waterfront homes located along the Alafia River.
The southern part of Riverview is an up and coming beautiful area with new developments being added to make room for people looking to relocate here. This area is still one of the last affordable places to move to, yet still not have a long commute to Tampa, St.Petersburg or Bradenton. The communities that are currently here include:
Summerfield, South Cove, South Fork, Panther Trace, Summer Springs, South Pointe, River Crest, River Walk, River Watch, River Woods and many more that are still in the building process.
If you've read anything at all Riverview, you probably know that Summerfield Crossings and Riverview in general is one of the faster growing areas in all of Hillsborough County. With an estimated 7000 additional homes slated to be built in the area, this community is rich with residential, family and social opportunities.
The second Summerfield Elementary School will soon be built. The new school will sit behind the Summerfield Crossings Community Center on 15 acres of land located on Fairway Meadow Drive. Plans are for the new school to open in August 2006.
This area has recently had the much awaited arrival of the Publix shopping plaza which opened in the Fall of 2005. Some of the stores in this plaza include: Publix, Hollywood Video, The UPS store, Dry Cleaners, Nail Salon, Urgent Care Clinic, Papa John' Pizza, Subway and more!
Along with the opening of Publix, 2 new banks have also recently opened in the area. Bank of America and Wachovia Bank.
As a
Realtor living in the Summerfield Community in Riverview, I can say that I truly enjoy living here! It's a beautiful quiet community close to everything, yet far enough away from the loud noise and hussle and bussle of a large metropolitan city. Summerfield itself has a lot to offer.
